Hannah has been learning to ride her bike without training wheels. She is doing really well. She was riding the very first day that they came off. She does need to practice her steering a little though. She tends to watch her feet and not look straight ahead.
We have been using nature to create masterpieces. Here are a few of the creations.
We went to Mashmoquet to have a Science/Art day. The girls getting river rocks.
Painting the rocks.....
More pictures from our day at Mashmoquet.
We went on a family excursion to The Ecotarium in Worcester MA.
Just this morning we all went to the Apple Orchard to pick apples. Now it's time to get cooking. Apple pie, Apple Crisp, and Applesauce. Yum....
As busy as we have been, we also started Table Time and Coop this week. The girls completed a review week and did well. I created a game called Chaos to use for our review. It is a lot of fun. It is a board game where you have to answer a "subject card" to move on. I also included "chaos" cards that provide the opportunity to jump around and do silly things. The girls really enjoyed the game so now I am going to incorporate it into our weekly table time. I've decided to add new subject cards each week, as we learn, so that we are constantly reviewing.
We also started what I call "Teaching Thursdays". At the end of table time on Thursday Hannah and Avery each get to teach for 20 minutes. They can choose any subject that they want. We all have to listen and do what the teacher says. This first week, Avery taught us how to use a calculator. She ended up doing a lot of addition and subtraction. Hannah taught us how to take care of a baby. (We had to use her dolls, she got this idea from when Santi had to bring a baby home from school last year and take care of it)
We also have a few big projects planned for the semester. We are starting a Homeschool Scrap Book for the year and next week we will be making and burying our own time capsules. On Wednesday, we have a field trip to Buttonwood Farm to look forward to.
