Fall Festivities......

Various pictures from table time.

We made scare crow magnets to welcome Fall.

One of Avery's many experiments.  She
found this wild cucumber growing and
planted it.  She now has sprouts growing.

We started a nature project for science.  The girls each picked a
plant to study.  Each season for a full year, they will
observe, take pictures, and sketch their chosen plant.
We will be comparing the changes each season and
discussing the reasons for the change.

This is Avery's tree.

Hannah and Avery working on their projects outside.

One of Avery's many cocoons.  She has 15 of them
in the basement.  It will be interesting to see what happens
with them in the spring.  She gathered them all
when they were still caterpillars.

These were fun art projects.  We actually got the idea from
co-op.  It is called marble art.  You place small objects
in a box with a few paint splatters and paper and
shake it up.  The result, modern art.  It's a lot of
fun!

The girls have also both started using an app called Duo-lingo.  This is the link:
https://www.duolingo.com/.  Ican't say enough about this app.
It is an app to learn foreign langauges.  Almost any language you could want is available.
Hannah is doing French and Avery is doing Spanish.
They absolutely love it.  Hannah even takes notes in her notebook and studies it.

At Sophia, Grace, and Lily's
Birthday Party.  So much fun!  We had a hay ride,
cornmaze, hay mountain and all kinds of other
fall, farm activities.

We went to the Florence Griswold Museum to see
the Wee Fairy Village. Every year it gets
better and better.  This year's theme
was "Princesses, Princes, Witches, and Villians.
I took a lot of pictures.    To really see the
beauty and intricate details, you really have to
be there though.  Pictures do not do it
justice.

Good Bye till next month!!!
