New York, New York.....

We spent Mother's Day weekend in New York.  It was the first time in the city for the girls.  They were so excited.  We had a full weekend of firsts.  The train ride, subway, and even a taxi.  They were in awe of the tall buildings, how many businesses there were (Penn Station had more stores than our entire town), the revolving doors, and of course all of the people and the odd sights.  It was a blast!

We did a lot of shopping.  The first night we went to the American Girl Store.  We had dinner there and the girls dolls had their hair done at the Doll Hair Salon.  The girls used their birthday money to buy more American Girl stuff.

We spent the next day in Central Park.  It was so beautiful!!  Flowers were in bloom everywhere and the landscaping was breathtaking.  We went to the zoo and the children's zoo.  Then the girls went on the Carousel.  We really wanted to go to Belvedere Castle but we didn't have time.

Mother's Day happened to also be Kevin's birthday, so we ate at an Irish Pub.  The food was delicious.  We visited Time Square and did some more shopping.  The girls went in their First Disney Store.  They were so excited that they couldn't stand still.  They ran from display to display.  We also visited Toys R Us and went on the indoor ferris wheel.  So many new experiences.

The city was a lot of fun and people were so friendly.  I'm glad to be home though.  I'm definitely a country girl at heart

birthday yet but they new we were there celebrating early.
